'Comeback Cooler' named Hudsonville Ice Cream's Flavor of Detroit

Posted

Holland, Michigan-based Hudsonville Ice cream has revealed its latest flavor to represent the city of Detroit.

The Flavor of Detroit winner, 'Comeback Cooler' is a new twist on the traditional Boston Cooler, with a Vernors-inspired ginger taste. The flavor is made from Hudsonville's French Vanilla ice cream swirled with a sweet ginger ale ribbon.

Tracy Heureux of Plymouth submitted the winning idea. She cited the flavor as something she associated strongly with Detroit and always craved while living in Philadelphia.

Hudsonville received more than 2,500 entries for its Flavor of Detroit contest.

'Comeback Cooler' is expected to hit store shelves in fall of 2017.
