What’s better than doing your holiday shopping in a market place filled with the best of the region’s indie and handcrafted gift ideas? How about doing it with a cocktail in your hand?

This season, thanks to Detroit Mercantile Company and Pulp Detroit, you can pour your gift-buying stress over ice, shake it up and strain out a tasty drinking and shopping experience.

The free two-day event features over 40 juried vendors. Guests can browse an array of Michigan-made products and artisan brands, as well as vintage and antique items, while enjoying a food-truck nosh and a few signature drinks prepared exclusively by Chas Williams, from Ferndale’s craft-cocktail masters, The Oakland.

The Wild Turkey bourbon bar will be mixing the finest in artisan ingredients, including McClary Bros. drinking vinegars and cold-brewed coffee by White Pine Coffee House.

A share of the proceeds will benefit 826 Michigan, a non-profit organization that provides children’s educational programs.

A partial list of vendors includes: Sharklion Studios, Corbe Company, Mutual Adoration, Made Floral, Eastworks Detroit, Inoshishi, AMK Ironworks, Detroit Scroll, Rebel Nell, Beau Bien Foods, Hunt and Noyer Woodworks, EM Designs, Iron and Oak Domestics, Owen & Abbey, McClary Bros.
