Winning Futures mentors young people for success

Posted

Winning Futures is an exemplary business-education mentoring program that inspires and prepares young people to be self-reliant and successful in life.

Each year, Winning Futures impacts about 1,400 students with learned skills that will last them for a lifetime.  We select this highly-respected organization as one of three Channel 7 Detroit 2020 winners for 2015.

Located in Warren, Winning Futures matches sixth through twelfth grade students with adult mentors.  Together, they set goals, practice life skills and develop strategic plans.

Teams complete fun projects together in 10 – 24 one-hour sessions throughout the school year.

Because of their winning curriculum and dedication to teaching young people, WXYZ Editorial Director Chuck Stokes presented Kristina Marshall, President & CEO of Winning Futures with $7,000 from the Scripps Howard Foundation.

Winning Futures lives up to the Detroit 2020 motto: Unify, Inspire, Act!
