NORTHFIELD TWP. (WXYZ) — A man in his 60s is dead following an explosion inside a Northfield Township home Sunday morning, police said.
The explosion happened just before noon in the 200 block of Barker.
When first responders arrived, they found the victim dead in a bedroom. There was minor structural damage to the home.
Two other people inside the home were uninjured.
The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad and ATF were able to clear the home and confirm that it had returned to a safe status.
The cause behind the explosion is still being investigated.
