The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says nearly $4,000 in lawn equipment was stolen from a golf course in Commerce Township.

According to police, it happened around 4 a.m. Monday at the Bay Point Golf Course on Union Lake Rd.

An employee found the maintenance office was broken into and several weed whackers, tools, keys, blowers and more had been stolen.

Evidence technicians responded and a K9 unit began to track the suspect. They lost the scent and the track was terminated.

They have not released a suspect description.
