An Allen Park man is facing child porn charges after investigators say he received and sent the pornographic images using the popular Kik messenger app in December of 2015.
In a criminal complaint filed today in U.S. District Court, 28-year-old Mike Amormino is accused of sharing images of underage children and discussing his sexual interest in minors with another Kik user, Mark Astalos of Brownstown Township. He also allegedly admitted to "exploring" an 8-year-old.
The accused predators had plans of meeting to look at child pornography together. The criminal complaint also alleges Amormino said Astalos told him he could have sexual contact with his young daughter if they met up.
Amormino also claims within the criminal complaint that he is a coach.
Astalos pleaded guilty to numerous counts of child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit the crime.
Amormino is expected to go in front of a federal judge today.
