Firefighters responding to a house fire in Detroit this morning discovered a body inside.

We're told when firefighters arrived to the house in the 8840 block of Burnette on the city's west side, they were advised that someone was still in the house.

D.J. Shordy, or "Shordy" as some in the neighborhood knew him, died in the fire, leaving behind two children.

Sources say he was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Hours after the fire was out, arson investigators from both the fire department and police department worked to determine the cause, but sources are telling 7 Action News it appears accidental.
