A Detroit woman accused of shooting and killing her ex-boyfriend will not face charges.

Starr Holmes was charged with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of Pap Jenkins last month.

Her attorney had claimed self defense, saying Holmes is a CPL holder and shot Jenkins when her life was in danger.

Prosecutors say Holmes and Jenkins were in an argument at a gas station on the city's west side when she pulled out a gun and shot him to death.

Judge Deborah Langston ruled that she acted in self defense.

Jenkins' mother and other family members were removed from the courtroom after voicing their objections to dismissal.

The judge told her that her son should have minded his own business and left Holmes alone.
