Best friends furr-ever. At least, that's what one animal shelter is hoping for an unlikely Chihuahua and husky duo.
It's the story of Willy and his best furry friend, little Buck.
The two dogs were found running loose together in Lincoln Park on Friday, May 26 and were eventually transferred to the Taylor Animal Shelter.
Taylor Animal Shelter senior volunteer Melissa Cartwright said they didn't really know about the special connection until one of the volunteers noticed little Buck running over to see Willy in his kennel during walk times.
"They just lit up...and they got really excited," said Cartwright. "The little Chihuahua just follows this husky non-stop, you can see the bond."
Cartwright says Willy and Buck must have come from the same home because they "act like they know each other."
Despite the postings on Facebook, no one ever came to claim the dogs. Now, the shelter is on a mission to get them adopted together.
Cartwright says Buck is estimated to be about 6 years old and Willy is around 4 years old. She says they seem to get along well with other dogs.
