A suspect has been arrested in a hit-and-run that killed a 6-month-old boy Thursday night, sources tell 7 Action News.

"I was giving him mouth to mouth. Oh, Jesus," said a tearful LaToya Powels about the moments she cradled her baby boy as a Good Samaritan rushed her and her injured children to the hospital Thursday night.

Powels was heading west on Puritan with her children and their grandmother in their minivan when a silver car blew through the red light at Archdale, crashing into them.

The man driving the car kept going as the family's minivan flipped several times, ejecting all of them.

"I was just trying to do whatever I could for my little baby," said Powels about her six month old baby that died at the hospital.

In the video above, hear Powels talk about the real damage the driver left behind in Kimberly Craig's report.
