Detroit police arrested two suspects Sunday afternoon after two separate barricaded gunman situations on Detroit's west side.

The first scene started at about 12 p.m. on the 5100 block of 28th Street. Police said an argument between a 27-year-old nephew and his family led to gunfire.

Police responded quickly and removed family members from the home before the suspect surrendered to police.

The second scene started at about 1:30 p.m. on the 9200 block of Savery Street. Police said an 18-year-old was shot in the face and neck, allegedly by a 40-year-old man armed with a shotgun.

Police believe the victim was looking for his mother at the time of the shooting.

The 18-year-old was transported to the hospital in serious condition, police said.
