A convicted rapist who cut his court ordered tether has been captured in West Virginia by the U.S. Marshals thanks to a WXYZ viewer tip.

Lajuan Jemison has been on the run since June when a jury found him guilty of raping a woman in 2009.

He was recently featured on our Detroit's Most Wanted segment.

“Right before he was supposed to show up for the verdict the jury comes back with a guilty verdict … he’s nowhere to be found,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said.

Jemison has an extensive criminal history, doing whatever it takes to get by.

“He’s a drug dealer, stolen property, he has criminal history – habitual offender,” Garcia said.
