Long gone are the days when you would first record a video and then post it to Facebook.

With its increasingly popular Live feature, the company announced it’s adding more bells and whistles.

The company detailed the updates in a recent blog post.

The first deals with comments during a Facebook Live. While it’s always fun to share your thoughts in a public forum, users will now be able to have a side conversation with friends about a broadcast.

Live Chat with Friends lets users message privately within a Live, and during a Live while also switching back to the public conversation.

Just make sure you don't move too fast with that one.

There's also a new Live With feature.

Facebook has made it possible to invite someone to join you in a Live broadcast. Users can select a guest either using the Live Viewers section or by tapping their comment.

The selected viewer, Facebook says, will get an option to choose whether they want to pop in on the fun -- which is a good thing because being publicly caught off guard is never pleasant.

According to the company, this is available to all profiles and pages on iOS.

We gave it a shot this morning, take a peek:
