A Detroit family said their final farewell to Kevin Matthews on Saturday, an unarmed black man who was shot and killed by a Dearborn police officer.
The church filled with family, friends and supporters, all filled with raw emotion as the case is still wide open.
Matthews, 35, got into a foot chase with a Dearborn police officer that ended in Detroit. Matthews was shot several times by the officer two days before Christmas.
According to police, Matthews was not armed, but they say there was a struggle with the Dearborn officer's gun. Matthews was wanted for a probation violation and theft.
The officer's name hasn't been released. He has been put on administrative leave while the shooting is under investigation by Detroit police.
