Gas prices fall for the fourth straight week in metro Detroit

Gas prices continue to fall across metro Detroit as they have seen a steady decline over the last few weeks.

According to GasBuddy, gas prices in Detroit have fallen 5.2 cents per gallon this week with the average now at $2.41 per gallon.

Prices across the nation are also down, this time 6 cents per gallon to $2.47 per gallon.

The average price per gallon is still 11.4 cents higher than this time last year but 23.9 cents lower than a month ago. The national average is also down 19.3 cents over the last month.

GasBuddy says Hurricane Nate will likely not impact prices in the nation like Harvey and Irma did last month.

Ann Arbor is also down 5.1 cents to $2.44 per gallon while Flint is down 11.6 cents to $2.34 per gallon.

When comparing prices to previous years in Detroit, they were $2.30 in 2013, $2.48 in 2015, $3.21 in 2014, $3.34 in 2013 and $3.86 in 2012.
