Fire crews battled a large fire at an auto parts shop in Highland Township Monday morning.
The NAPA Auto Parts store at 315 N. Milford Road was the destroyed by the fire that started sometime before 5 a.m., according to Ken Chapman, chief of the Highland Township Fire Department. Seven other departments provided mutual aid, including water tankers.
M-59 was closed for hours in both directions at N. Milford Road to allow crews to reach a hydrant on the north side of the M-59. It was the closest to the auto parts store. N. Milford Road was also closed between M-59 and Livingston Road.
Investigators worked to determine the cause of the fire.
