An 81-year-old man from Clinton Township is accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl over the course of three years, according to the Macomb Daily.
According to the Macomb Daily, Daniel Newman took the witness stand at his trial on Tuesday and said he never raped the girl.
"I've probably been carrying (her) since she was a baby, but inappropriately? Never," he said, according to the Macomb Daily.
He is charged with four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct of a child under the age of 13.
According to the Macomb Daily, he is accused of raping the girl and binding her with rope while he was alone with her for two hours on Saturdays. The Macomb Daily writes he is accused of oral, vaginal and anal sex with the girl, who did testify at the trial.
