Man hit by rock thrown from overpass dies on I-75 in Genesee Co.

UPDATE:Several teens are in custodyfor throwing rocks off of I-75 that killed 32-year-old Kenneth White

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says a man driving down I-75 on Wednesday night died after a being hit by a rock thrown from an overpass.

According to deputies, the 32-year-old Mt. Morris man was driving on southbound I-75 near Dodge Rd. when someone threw a large rock. He was identified as 32-year-old Kenneth White. A GoFundMe has been set up to raise money for funeral expenses.

The rock smashed through the windshield and hit the man, and he was taken to Hurley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies say four other vehicles had reported hitting other large rocks in the road and were waiting on scene waiting for police to arrive. 

The sheriff's office believes the rocks were taken from another location and thrown from the overpass.

They are investigating the man's death as a homicide.
