The man who led Detroit police on a wild chase through the city that ended with him being tackled off the top of a car on I-75 was arraigned on several charges Monday.

Derronn Deshawn Sherard, 24, is charged with fleeing and eluding police, resisting and obstructing the police, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Sherard, a murder suspect, led police on the chase Friday afternoon. He jumped out of a minivan on I-75, frightening the motorist behind the wheel.

"In my mind I thought he was going to get inside the car and do something to me," the driver said. "That's what I was scared of."

The chase went through the city of Detroit, down multiple highways and even into portions of downtown.
