Starting Thursday, June 22, additional Metro Detroit communities will have the convenient option of having someone else shop and deliver their groceries.
Following last year's initial launch in Detroit, Meijer is now expanding its partnership with home delivery app Shipt to more Detroit-area locations.
Store-to-door services will now expand to Ann Arbor as well as 500,000 households in Allen Park, Belleville, Brighton, Flat Rock, Hartland, Howell, Lincoln Park, Monroe, Oxford, Southgate, Taylor and Woodhaven.
Meijer now offers home delivery to more than 2 million households in Michigan.
The retailer will continue rolling out the convenient service to markets across the Midwest throughout the year.
Customers can shop using their phone or computer for 55,000 groceries and everyday essentials and perishables - including fresh produce, refrigerated and frozen items as well as pet food and health and beauty care items.
Personal shoppers hand-pick items from local Meijer stores offering Shipt's home-delivery service and deliver orders within a preferred one-hour time window.
Meijer customers can sign up for Shipt memberships for $99 per year. For a limited-time, new members will also receive $25 off their first order. Delivery is free for orders over $35; a flat $7 delivery fee is added to any orders under $35.
