Michigan approves $5M for Amazon's $140M facility, 1,600 jobs coming

Funding has been approved for online retail giant to build its second distribution facility in southeast Michigan. The state voted to approve a $5 million grant for the project.

Amazon is expected to bring as many as 1,600 jobs to Romulus.

The project marks a $140 million investment.

The facility will also include warehousing and storage space, at a location near the I-275 and I-94 corridors. So far, no exact date is being given for the move in.

The company has already brought 1,000 jobs to Livonia.
