The popular site GoFundMe is being used to help people raise money for a cause.
One mom in Michigan started a GoFundMe to help pay for her daughter’s college tuition. As of Thursday she raised more than $500.
According to the website philanthropy.com, Michigan ranks number 23 in the most charitable sates in the U.S.
We asked people why they gave to people they didn’t know.
Many of them had an emotional connection to the cause or just felt like they wanted to give.
“The best time in life you'll have is when you help other people," one giver said.
