Missing Sterling Heights man found dead on Detroit's east side, family says

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 70-year-old Sterling Heights man who went missing just before Valentine's Day has been found dead on the Detroit's east side, the family confirmed to 7 Action News.

Police say John Williams Jr. was found inside his van with no signs of trauma or foul play. The medical examiner will determine his cause of death.

Williams left his home on Feb. 13 for an appointment at a VA hospital at 4646 John R. in Detroit.

Williams was said to be in good mental condition but suffered from partial paralysis on his right side from a previous stroke. He left the home with his cell phone but it was off. His wife was at their home when he left and said he appeared normal.

His body was located on Chelsea and Chalmers.
