A child predator in Oakland County on the run and he’s made the way to the top of the U.S. Marshals fugitive list and they need your help tracking him down.

Jerome Hunt admitted his guilt and spent time in prison but as a sex offender he continues to fail at registering.

“I think it’s because he wants to go and prey on young children, he doesn’t want police to know where he lives, he doesn’t want anybody to really know who he is because that’s going to decrease his chances of being a successful predator,” Deputy Rob Watson of the U.S. Marshals DFAT said.

Jerome Hunt was locked up in 2003 for sex crimes against a child.

“In 2002 Mr. Hunt was arrested for CSC 3rd degree,” Watson said. “In that time he raped and impregnated a 13 year old girl.”

It happened in Pontiac and Hunt served prison time but upon release he’s required to register as a sex offender, something he’s refused to do.

“The fear we have of a person like this not registering is that he could be looking for your little girl, he could be watching your loved ones waiting for the time that he goes and assaults them,” Watson said.

Jerome Hunt is 39-years-old, he’s 5’4” and 170 pounds.

“The reason this man makes it to the top of our list is that the U.S. Marshals Service is committed to protecting children,” Watson said.

Hunt has violated terms of his parole twice before and went back to prison in 2016.

“This is a person who doesn’t want to abide by the rules, doesn’t want to follow the law,” Watson said.

And the Marshals think he has people helping him hide.

“We believe he’s still in the Pontiac area and he has family and friends that also reside in the area,” Watson said. “It happened in Pontiac, he’s from the Pontiac area, he has ties all over eastern Michigan with some out of state ties.

Watson says Hunt has family in South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky.
