No injuries reported after house explosion in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) — Birmingham police say a house exploded on Monday morning.

It happened in the 1300 block of Chapin, which is just off Woodward north of 14 Mile.

Birmingham Fire Chief Paul Wells say they got a call for a house fire around 9:30 a.m.

We're told one person was in the home at the time, but she was checked out at the scene with minor injuries.

According to the fire department, the whole house was blown off the foundation, and they are working on stabilizing the house.
