We live in an exciting era of interactive social media. People love sharing information about their personal lives, jobs and individual communities with friends and colleagues. But combining that social media platform with a good old fashioned face-to-face town hall meeting is viewer discussion at its best!
That’s why we at WXYZ-TV 7 will take our Detroit 2020 forum of listening to you and your concerns to Detroit this Tuesday. Our home site for the evening will be at Greater Grace Temple on 7 Mile Road. The doors will open at 6:15p.m. This will be our fourth Detroit 2020 town hall meeting this year in Southeast Michigan. We will not come with a set agenda. Led by Action News Anchor Carolyn Clifford, our team of reporters and producers will be all ears. We want to find out what’s on your mind. What issues are you dealing with every day that affect your neighborhoods, local governments, schools and quality of life?
We’re inspired and proud of the progress Detroit has made in downtown and Midtown. In many ways, our comeback is the talk of the nation! We’re equally pleased with many of the improvements we see happening in Wayne County government services. But what’s really going on inside the soul of Detroit, its neighborhoods, which many of our viewers call home? We’ll be there, ready to hear your stories of progress and challenges.
We invite you to join us in person, on-air and online at WXYZ.com on Tuesday, September 19th. Working together, we will take action to keep this region moving forward one community and one town hall meeting at a time!
I’m Mike Murri, Vice President & General Manager
