Suspected Ortonville apartment complex shooter in police custody

Sources say suspected Ortonville shooter Michael Quigley is in custody.

The Brandon School District said all school activities will resume as scheduled on Thursday. 

5:08 p.m.

A previous version of this story referred to the male victim as the boyfriend of the alleged shooter's estranged wife. This was information came from a neighbor, but police are uncertain if it was a boyfriend or friend. We are updating our stories to reflect information from the police unless we get further verification.

4:16 p.m.

Neighbors say the names of the two victims are Stephanie Quigley and Ryan Sharp.

Law enforcement also says the suspected shooter's weapon, a .22 caliber silver revolver, was recovered in the bushes near the apartment complex.

His cell phone was also recovered about 50 feet away from the gun.

The manhunt for Michael Quigley continues.

2:01 p.m.

Both shooting victims are still alive.

His estranged 33-year-old wife currently has a feeding tube down her throat, sources say.

Sources say she was reportedly shot in the nasal cavity, while a statement from Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said she was shot in the back of the head.

Her friend was shot in the eye and is able to talk. They are both cooperating with police, sources say.

12:03 p.m.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says Michael Quigley shot his estranged wife and a man both in the head at an apartment in the 90 block of Village Court on Tuesday evening.

The woman was reportedly in the process of filing for a divorce and getting a personal protection order against Quigley when the shooting occurred. 

Quigley fled the apartment on foot and is believed to be armed and dangerous. 

9:58 a.m.

Lake Orion Community Schools spokesperson Mark Snyder confirms that Michael Quigley is an assistant middle school seasonal wrestling coach.

9:26 a.m.

We're told the woman recently filed for divorce from Quigley on November 7. The man that was shot was the woman's friend, according to neighbors. 

A witness says the friend is the father of a 3-year-old girl who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting. She was reportedly uninjured. 

Both the man and woman are listed in stable condition at a local hospital. 

7:31 a.m.

The Brandon Public Library will also be closed today.

6:15 a.m. Wednesday

Clarkston Community Schools, Goodrich Area Schools and Oxford Community Schools are also closed for the day as the manhunt continues for the accused Ortonville shooter. 

Lake Orion Community Schools is doing a "soft lockdown" throughout the day until further notice. Police will also be present at the school, according to a statement from the district. 

5:16 a.m. Wednesday

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says the suspect is still at large.

The Brandon School District is closed for the day due to the search. 

The victims remain in the hospital, they are now reportedly listed in stable condition. 

11 p.m.

Neighbors say Quigley shot a 33-year-old woman and a man whose age is unknown. They are in critical condition.

10:17 p.m.

The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Michael Quigley from Clarkston. Sources say he is believed to be armed and dangerous. 

The two wounded are a man and woman, conditions still unknown. 

10 p.m.

Two people were allegedly shot at an apartment complex in Ortonville in northern Oakland County. 

Neighbors say the gunshots rang out during a domestic dispute at an apartment on Village Court.

Police are combing the area looking for the shooter. 

The two victims were rushed to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
