Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl while she was walking home from school on Tuesday afternoon.
We're told the student was walking home from Kelly Middle School in the area of Gratiot and Bell around 3:30 p.m. when a man driving a green Dodge Challenger pulled up alongside her and began to make vulgar comments. That's when, police say, the driver tried to get the child into his vehicle.
A witness stepped in to help and the driver fled the area.
Police are looking for a white male in his 40s with a larger build and a gray beard.
