2 women killed in suspected road rage crash on I-75 in Detroit identified

Police say the two women killed over the weekend on I-75 were childhood friends.

They have been identified as 22-year-old Shelby Seyburn of Commerce Townshipand 23-year-old Sydney Zaleski of White Lake Township.

The two were killed and 8 others were injured Saturday morning in a serious crash involving 5 vehicles at I-75 near Mack Avenue in Detroit.

It happened at about 11 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-75.

Police said the preliminary investigation reveals road rage may have caused the crash.

Michael Williams said he was headed downtown when he witnessed the crash. He said he noticed a driver yelling and cutting people off.

"He asked a person, 'Why the "f---" did you do that,'" Williams said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Michigan State Police Metro South Post at 734-287-5000.

The crash is still under investigation.
