Man shot and killed while driving in Detroit

Posted

Detroit police are trying to solve the murder of a 28-year-old man who was shot and killed while driving in the city.

It happened near Chalmers and the I-94 service drive in Detroit around 8:30 Thursday morning.

Nathan Johnson says the victim is his cousin, Tyrone McFolley.

"My family and I, we're hurt. I just wish I knew where to turn for answers," says Johnson.

Police say the shooting happened as McFolley was at a stop. A man got out of a black Chrysler Sebring and fired his gun. He then took off with his female driver.

After getting shot, McFolley wound up crashing into Sho Go Auto Repair about 1/4 mile down the street.

Emergency crews tried to save him, but it was too late.

"He's a real cool, laid back person. He knows a lot of people. Lord knows who it could have been," says Johnson.

Detroit police are still searching for the gunman and his female driver.

If you know who they are, please call DPD right away.
