Police say a 6-month-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Detroit's west side on Thursday night. Police had been searching for the vehicle that was involved in the crash. It was found on 6 Mile Road Friday afternoon.
The search for the suspect is still underway.
Surveillance shows the vehicle involved in the crash.
It happened at Archdale and Puritan. Officers say three children inside a blue 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan were ejected in the crash.
Police say the van was heading westbound on Puritan when a silver car slammed into it, causing the van to flip and roll.
Family has identified the boy who was killed in the crash as 6-month-old Demetrius Brown Jr.
We're told -- in addition to Demetrius -- 2-year-old Demauriah Brown, 4-year-old Demetriah Brown and 12-year-old Lazavier Cole were all in the van with their 40-year-old mother and 59-year-old grandmother at the time of the accident.
Police say the baby was properly restrained in a car seat, but was ejected with two of the other children.
Right now, family says Demetriah and Demauriah are currently in critical condition at a nearby hospital with burns and lacerations.
The car reportedly left the area after the crash and police are now searching for the driver. The vehicle could have heavy front-end damage.
