Crime Stoppers increases cash reward to help nab hit-and-run driver

Franklin Speed Jr., 63, was still recovering from a stroke when he was struck by a driver who kept going, leaving Franklin critically injured in the area of Grand River Avenue and Evergreen on Detroit's west side.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on August 16, 2017.

Anyone with any information that leads to the arrest of the hit and run driver is eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. An additional $1,000 will be added to that amount if the tip comes in by midnight, Friday, September 15.
