Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Travun Eugen-Jani Baskerville, 26, of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Douglas Jeffrey Calhoun, 39, and human trafficking a 17-year-old female.

All of the parties are Detroit residents.

Calhoun was last seen by a relative on May 31.

A missing person report was filed with the Sixth Police Precinct on June 2, 2017. On July 7, Calhoun’s lifeless body was discovered at a vacant dwelling in the 14600 block of Greydale Street in Detroit.

The medical examiner determined that the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds.

On June 1, it is alleged that Baskerville had been engaged in human trafficking a 17-year-old female. On the same day, it is alleged that she phoned Calhoun and arranged a date with him at Baskerville’s home in the 14600 block of Burgess in Detroit.

During the date, it is alleged that Calhoun and Baskerville had an argument that led Baskerville to fatally shoot Calhoun and subsequently remove his body to a vacant house on Greydale.

Baskerville has been charged with First Degree Murder, Human Trafficking Enterprise Involving Death, Human Trafficking of a Minor for Commercial Sexual Activity, Child Sexually Abusive Activity, Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Felony Firearm.

Baskerville is expected to be arraigned on Friday.
