Multiple sources close to the investigation and within Wayne County government confirm to 7 Action News federal agents showed up at the Guardian Building in downtown Detroit this morning to continue their investigation into the Detroit Land Bank.
It is unclear what was searched or seized.
The Land Bank would not confirm or comment in detail about the federal visit, but said in a statement, they are cooperating fully with the investigation.
The Land Bank has been under federal investigation for its use and management of money. This is the city's blight removal program.
A recent audit also found almost a million bucks improperly billed to the state to cover up demo work overages not covered by federal funds.
Whether the federal probe will affect the millions earmarked for Detroit remains unclear.
