Man convicted as teenager of killed Detroit police officer fights for release from prison

A convicted cop killer is pushing to get out of prison.

Charles Lewis appeared via video camera for a status conference hearing before Wayne Circuit Judge Qiana Lillard. 

Lewis was 17-years-old when he was convicted  of killing an off duty Detroit police officer and sentenced to life.

Lewis and his supporters are pushing for his release.

Today’s court hearing was rescheduled for October 11th.
