It was a night nearly 4 decades in the making. The Detroit Pistons hitting the floor at the Little Caesars arena in downtown Detroit.

It was a star studded affair to welcome the home team, and a night to remember.

"Very good game. Great atmosphere good to see the Pistons back in the city," said Piston fan Chris Siller, who was attending the game with his family.

"I think when you're in a better place you do better things," said Jerry Lee Miller Sr, a Pistons fan for years.

"I think it’s awesome. How can you have a team named Detroit and you're not in Detroit. So, right now everything is matching up," said Miller Sr.

It wasn't just the shinny new floor sparkling under the LCA roof.

"We were really surprised to see Eminem down there," said a fan leaving Little Caesars Arena.

Some big names also in attendance including Big Sean, Kid Rock and Dave Bing. A star studded affair, worth the 40 year wait.

"I just think that just karma, everything everybody coming together just showing some love.  Everything was just beautiful," said Miller Sr.

One thing is for sure, the Pistons are back in Motor City, and the fans are loving it.
