Showing they are as compassionate as they are smart and athletic, dozens of students from Wayne State University spent the morning showing kindness to those who may not have seen much of it in a long time.
The student-athletes volunteered to distribute toiletry kits to Detroit's homeless youth and adults.
The athletes have purchased or collected the toiletry items throughout their travels to games.
Friday morning, the athletes packaged the items and then walked through areas of downtown Detroit, looking for those in need.
Items are also being donated to Mariner's Inn, Neighborhood Service Organization, and Covenant House.
