Stephanie Allen says her son, Matthew Carrier has broken bones, internal injuries, is on a ventilator and his condition is “minute to minute”.

She’s also been told he had alcohol in his blood.

State police say he was the driver of a car that blew through a stop sign and T-boned a second car at M-59 and Argentine Road late Tuesday night in Livingston County. Five people were killed and 3 critically injured.

Julie Henderson went looking for her son, Justin, when he did not come home from work Tuesday night.

She didn’t hear any sirens. They were 20 miles south.

Justin was in the car that burned. He had to be identified through dental records today.

Both moms talk about their grief.

Stephanie says if Matthew caused this, he will be held accountable and go to prison, if he survives. She also says people have called him a piece of crap and they’re dehumanizing him.

She says they don’t know him. Matthew has been bipolar and life has not been easy.

Julie does not blame Matthew, because she says he didn’t intend to hurt anyone.

She says the funeral for Justin will be Monday at the Freedom Center Church in Fenton.
