Fraser city council members have voted 5-0 to hire a special prosecutor to investigate claims of alleged sexual harassment involving Mayor Joe Nichols and acting Mayor Matt Hemelberg.
Attorney Rob Huth was hired Monday night to work at a rate of $155 per hour.
Both the mayor and acting mayor maintain this is all part of a political campaign against them.
As part of his duties, Huth will interview witnesses, gather evidence and be part of an upcoming tribunal. The result of that tribunal could lead to the removal of both men.
Citizens say they're the glad the truth will come out, after allegations by women surfaced months ago.
Attorneys on both sides can be present at the tribunal, expected to be held in the next 30 days.
