New Baltimore Police seek 'parking police', say leave the job to us

Someone in New Baltimore is playing parking police.

They are not the police.

The real police don’t want imposters posting no parking stickers on cars. Several have shown up during the last few days and police want to put a stop to it and say, 'leave the job up to us.'

Joe Monahan lives on St. Clair Drive where this is happening and says some residents just don’t have the parking near their home.

Parking is not allowed on one side of the street and there are center boulevards where people sometimes park.

Det. Ken Stevens of the New Baltimore Police Department says when they get a call about the sticker, sometimes the cars are parked illegally.

He also says they are expecting a lot of people visiting their city by the lake this holiday weekend and parking will be an issue.

The Police Department on its Facebook page says the person placing the stickers could be charged with vandalism.
