Shelby Townshi police are investigating the mysterious death of a woman found in a pond at a local apartment complex.
Officers were called to the Oak Hill apartment complex in Shelby Township off of West Utica Road around 10:30 in the morning Wednesday.
Contractors had made the discovery shortly before that in the nearby pond.
Shelby Township Firefighters assisted.
The body of an unknown woman was removed from the water and it was later determined that she was dead.
7 Action News spoke to police who say there is not much that is known right now and they are looking into every possible factor which could have led to her death.
Just two weeks ago, 18-year-old Madyson Carolyn Redpath Kirkwood went missing from the same apartment complex.
Police say they do not know if the two cases are connected.
