The Frenchtown Township Fire Department tells 7 Action News that a woman who went into labor at their local Walmart gave birth so quickly they didn't even have time to arrive on the scene before it was all said and done.

Officials say the 21-year-old's water broke around 1:30 p.m. Friday, while she was in the store on North Telegraph.

911 was called  and medics responded, but they did not make it to the store in time for the birth of the baby girl. The medics did clean the baby up and cut the umbilical cord, before taking mother and child to the hospital.

Fire officials say the woman was aided by store employees, who used blankets to protect her privacy.

The baby's name is not known.
