Classic Corvette stolen while parked in Ferndale for the Dream Cruise

The Woodward Dream Cruise becomes a nightmare for one classic car owner, after it was stolen during the event.

Kelly Robinson parked her 1978 Chevrolet Corvette behind Rosie O’Grady’s in Ferndale while her family enjoyed the cruise, shopped and ate.

When she returned to the lot less than two hours later the car was gone.

"I'm trembling right now, I'm shaking I just want to find the car, that's all I want right now, I just want my Stella back,” said Robinson.

The Corvette, lovingly dubbed ‘Stella’ has been in Robinson’s life for 17 years.

She saved up to buy it while still living at home with her parents and she said it’s near and dear to her heart.

"This is a car I was going to have for my life, probably pass down to somebody,” said Robinson.

Now she’s hopeful other car enthusiasts out at the Dream Cruise will be on the lookout for it

"It's a 1978 Corvette, dark midnight blue, white oyster interior, license plate MS KELLY, it has chrome mag wheels on it and it does have t-tops,” said Robinson.

The Dream Cruise, which has become a family tradition for Robinson turned into a nightmare this year.

"It's a big deal for us, every single year and this year my car got stolen and I'm devastated,” said Robinson.

Robinson said she just wants the vehicle back, no questions asked.

She is offering a reward, just contact the Ferndale Police Department at (248) 541-3650.
