A school district in Oakland County is working with law enforcement, trying to figure out who brought marijuana-laced brownies to a teachers lounge in one of the schools.
One of the teachers ate one of the brownies and got sick.
In an email obtained by 7 Action News, Huron Valley School Superintendent Jim Baker alerted staff that earlier this week a plate of marijuana baked goods was left in a teachers lounge in one of the schools.
Milford, Highland, White Lake and portions of Commerce Township are all included in Huron Valley Schools.
A teacher felt ill after eating one of the brownies and sought medical attention.
"The Oakland county crime lab tested the brownies and they did contain the active ingredients in marijuana," says Kim Root.
But school administrators don't know if this was a malicious act or if someone made a batch of pot brownies for personal medical purposes and accidentally mixed them up with the brownies they intended to bring to school.
