Local man arrested for trying to murder wife

Posted

A Rochester Hills man who owned 145 guns was arrested for allegedly shooting at his wife earlier this week.

Deputies say they were called to the home in the 2500 block of John R. on Dec. 1 because they were notified a man beat up his wife and also shot at her with a small handgun.

According to deputies, John Piotrowski, 68, grabbed his wife around the neck and said he was going to kill her when she was talking to him in their bedroom. She was able to get away and call 911 from the basement.

While she was on the phone he came downstairs, pointed a gun at her and fired two shots, both missing, according to deputies.

Piotrowski was arrested, and deputies removed 145 guns from the home for "safekeeping," which included 87 rifles and 58 handguns.

He is facing four charges including Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He was arraigned on those charges and held on a $500,000 bond.
