Forty-three-year old David Cerne faces multiple charges in several Metro Detroit communities that center on destruction of property.

He was arraigned Thursday morning on an additional charge of Arson after he allegedly set off a commercial grade firework inside Divine Child Church in Dearborn.

The incident was caught on surveillance video that helped police close the case.

Attorney Roman Ficaj tells 7 Action News that Cerne had a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq.  He was treated and went back into combat in Afghanistan and continues to have trouble while being treated in the VA.

He remains in jail facing several pending cases.
