A man is alive after a miraculous rescue in Warren. He was in a car crushed by a semi on Mound Road.
Emergency workers were able to pull the man out alive.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on Mound Road near I-696 in Warren. A semi rolled over, crushing the Chevy Impala with the driver inside.
It took crews an hour to get the man out, they pulled the semi off the car slightly and then used the jaws of life to get him out.
Some onlookers expected the worst, because of how damaged the car looked.
"If the guy is living and they save his life it's a total miracle, but it's because of their efforts." said onlooker, Ed Chinoski.
When the victim was finally pulled out he was strapped to a gurney, and he raised on fist to the cheering onlookers.
The victim lives in Hazel Park.
7 Action News went to the man’s home and his son stopped by, but he didn’t have a comment on the his dad’s condition. He was heading back to the hospital, and he only said his dad would not be coming home tonight.
The Warren Mayor Jim Fouts released a statement on his Facebook page, praising the efforts of his fire department. He also stated the victim was ‘fine and will recover completely’.
