The unseasonably warm September weather may be welcome for summer lovers, but some fans of cool, crisp autumn weather are already beginning to wilt under the heat and humidity.

Unfortunately for them, the dome of hot, humid weather remains locked down over Detroit and the Great Lakes through the weekend and beyond.

So, when does relief arrive? The change begins next Wednesday with a powerful cold front. Temperatures will go from the upper 80s Tuesday to near 80 degrees Wednesday to the upper 60s - near 70 degrees Thursday. The relief continues through that weekend.

Looking beyond that, another big warm up is possible in a couple of weeks. This chart of October 5 shows another pronounced warm in the forecast.
