The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says 34-year-old Michael Quigley opened fire on his 33-year-old estranged wife and a man whose age is unknown at an apartment on Village Court around 8 p.m.
The man and woman were both shot in the head, according to the sheriff's office.
We're told the woman recently filed for divorce from Quigley on November 7 and was trying to get a personal protection order against him. The man that was shot was the woman's friend, according to neighbors and police.
A witness says the friend is the father of a 3-year-old girl who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting. She was reportedly uninjured.
Both the man and woman are listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Sources say Quigley is believed to be armed and dangerous. He reportedly fled the scene on foot after the shooting and pointed a gun at a neighbor.
The Brandon School District, Clarkston Community Schools, Goodrich Area Schools and Oxford Community Schools are closed for the day due to the ongoing search.
Lake Orion Community Schools is doing a "soft lockdown" throughout the day until further notice. Police will also be present at the school, according to a statement from the school district.
The Brandon Public Library will also be closed today.
Anyone with information regarding Quigley's whereabouts is asked to call police.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story referred to the male victim as the boyfriend of the alleged shooter's estranged wife. This was information came from a neighbor, but police are uncertain if it was a boyfriend or a friend. We are updating our stories to reflect information from the police unless we get further verification.
