Both directions of I-75 are back open at M-59 after a large vehicle fire on Thursday morning.

According to police, it happened around 7:30 a.m. between South Blvd. and M-59.

A pickup truck pulling a landscaping dump trailer going north lost control, struck a construction median barrier and flipped over the wall onto northbound I-75.

As a result of the crash, the truck's fuel tank ruptured and started the fire. It also had an axillary tank in the bed of the truck that spilled about 30 gallons of diesel on both north and southbound I-75.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and helped migrate the fuel spill. The highway was closed for a few hours but has since reopened.
